It U better to employ the special palladium catalyst which is incorporated in the Deoxo catalytic gas purifier (obtainable from Baker Platinum Limited, 52 High Holbom. London, W.C. 1). 1 his functions at the laboratory tamperature and will remove up to 1 per cent of oxygen. The water vapour formed is carried away in the gas stream and is separated by any of the common desiccants. 

The used raw materials were TiCU, oxygen, Ar and NaOH. The reaction apparatus consisted of gas purifiers, reactant preheaters, reactor, water cooler, separator and an off-gas treatment unit. The submitters used nitrogen at this point, but the checkers found that argon worked as well. The checkers also recommend the use of an Oxiclear gas purifier. 

Proton Energy Systems (Rocky Hill, CT) received US Patent 6,168,705 in 2001 for a system that can purify and simultaneously compress hydrogen from a dirty gas stream without relying on moving parts. This electrochemical gas purifier system can purify and produce hydrogen gas at pressures exceeding 2,000 psig. 

Argon (Ultra High Purity, 99.999%), hydrogen (Research Purity, 99.9995%) and ethylene (Research Purity, 99.99%) were purchased from Matheson. The argon was further purified using a Matheson Gas Purifier Model 6406in conjunction with an Alltech indicating oxy-trap. 

Figure 3 depicts the result from such a study with the OLGA III device [12]. Helium saturated with carbon particles served as carrier aerosol to transport the products from the collection chamber to the chemistry device. The chemical reagent was HC1 gas, purified from traces of oxygen, added to the carrier gas at the entrance of the oven system.
