Galvanostatic intermittant titration technique

The galvanostatic intermittent titration technique (GITT) has been first proposed by Weppner and Huggins in 1977 [22], This method is of particular interest for the measurement of ion transport properties in solid intercalation electrodes, used in lithium-ion batteries, for instance [18]. The determination of the diffusion constants relies on Fick s law. The GITT method records the transient potential response of a system to a perturbation signal a current step (/s) is applied for a set time xs, and the change of the potential (E) versus time (0 is recorded (Figure 1.11) [18,22],... [Pg.18]

These include changes in the equilibrium phase as lithium intercalation/ deintercalation proceeds. (Reproduced with permissions from (a) Ref. [11] (b) Ref. [14] (c) Ref. [17] (d) Ref. [18].)... A general view ofthe mechanisms and kinetics of the doping processes (using EIS), and a quantitative evaluation of the chemical diffusion coefficients of electronic and ionic charge carriers with the use of small-amplitude techniques (often called potentiostatic and galvanostatic intermittent titration techniques PITT and GITT, respectively [29]). [Pg.376]

The experiment was also made under galvanostatic conditions. This is called the galvanostatic intermittent titration technique (GITT). [Pg.160]

ABSTRACT Synthesis of nanostructured LiCoOj and TiO via microwave assisted and conventional hydrothermal methods, respectively, is presented. The physical properties of the resulting material are characterised via X-ray powder diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. Cyclic voltammetry and Galvanostatic Intermittent Titration Technique are used to study differences of the electrochemical properties compared to bulk material. [Pg.95]

FIGURE 9.19. Schematic representation of the galvanostatic intermittent titration technique (GUT). During galvanostatic current pulses, the transient voltage E( is observed as a function of time t and analyzed to evaluate the chemical diffusion coefficient D. The steady-state equilibrium voltage is studied as a function of the composition (y). [Pg.326]
