Formation of paper

Wet end operations formation of paper sheet from wet pulp... [Pg.872]

The new format of paper 9701/05 was first examined in June 2007 and formed part of the HSC/A... [Pg.381]

CPPA is primarily a trade association of that part of the forest products industry producing paper and its intermediates. This is an industry of great concern and value to Canada. Tremendous stands of timber are found in most provinces, particularly in British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, and three of the four Atlantic provinces. The pulping process and the formation of paper are chemical engineering operations. Probably because of the lack of a suitable medium for the exchange of technical information in its field in Canada, the CPPA formed the Technical Section in 1915. It has maintained an active information transfer program ever since. [Pg.201]

Our trials through published articles [20-22] to provide functional paper sheets with serving the previous drawbacks, and based on the characteristics of cellulose derivative-metal complexes, the CMC- and HEC-metal complexes were used as beater additives during the formation of paper sheets from wood pulp. The thermal degradation and magnetic and electrical conductivity properties were tested to evaluate the performance of paper product besides the strength properties. [Pg.287]

The formation of paper begins when the cellulose fibers, from whatever source, are blended with... [Pg.1403]

The blackening of filter paper, moistened with a soluble lead(II) salt (e.g. the ethanoate or nitrate), by the formation of lead(II) sulphide. [Pg.284]

Primary aromatic amides are crystaUine sohds with definite melting points. Upon boiling with 10-20 per cent, sodium or potassium hydroxide solution, they are hydrolysed with the evolution of ammonia (vapour turns red htmus paper blue and mercurous nitrate paper black) and the formation of the alkah metal salt of the acid ... [Pg.798]

In a recent paper, Lozano-Calero and colleagues describe a new method for the quantitative analysis of phosphorus in cola beverages. The method is based on the formation of an intensely blue-colored phosphomolybdate complex,... [Pg.451]

Hydantoin itself can be detected ia small concentrations ia the presence of other NH-containing compounds by paper chromatography followed by detection with a mercury acetate—diphenylcarba2one spray reagent. A variety of analytical reactions has been developed for 5,5-disubstituted hydantoias, due to their medicinal iaterest. These reactions are best exemplified by reference to the assays used for 5,5-diphenylhydantoiQ (73—78), most of which are based on their cycHc ureide stmcture. Identity tests iaclude the foUowiag (/) the Zwikker reaction, consisting of the formation of a colored complex on treatment with cobalt(II) salts ia the presence of an amine (2) formation of colored copper complexes and (3) precipitation on addition of silver(I) species, due to formation of iasoluble salts at N. ... [Pg.255]

The greatest industrial consumption of monobasic aluminum acetate has been as a solution in the preparation of red color lakes for the dyeing of cotton. Formation of a water-resistant coating on fabrics, paper, leather, or other materials is also an important appHcation. In this process, for example, cloth is dipped into a solution of water-soluble soap, then into the aluminum salt solution, forming an insoluble, water-resistant aluminum soap coating on the fiber surfaces (10). [Pg.142]
