The checklists used in workplace inspections and the resultant reports and supporting materials are important records that provide valuable information to assist in decision making. 

The documentation should be seen as an organizational asset. As there is alw s considerable effort and expense associated with workplace irrspections, not to fully utilize the information is wasteful. The reports generated through workplace inspections could identify opportunities beyond the iderrtification of hazards and accident causation factors. Inspectiorrs can also iderrtify production improvements, better maintenance techniqnes, means of reducing wastage, and increased efficiency, all of which can contribute to an improved, more productive and safer work environment. 

The manner in which iirspection results are reported will depend primarify on the reason for the inspection and the person conducting the inspection. The organization s safety officer, the supervisor, the fitter and the health and safety representative could all use the same workplace iirspection checklist and produce different reports. This is a normal and expected outcome as the reasons for conducting the inspection may be

While discussion with managers and supervisors is an important aspect of auditing, ensure that suffieient eheeseboring on the ground is used to vahdate claims made by people.
