For Taurus

Head over heels for a Taurus Hang around. Be patient. Avoid arguments. Reveal no deep-seated neuroses. And give Taurus a chance to feel comfortable. Security is essential for Taurus. To give your Bull a safe haven, provide rich food, soft touches, lazy afternoons, good wine, leisurely walks in the woods, and every reason to feel relaxed. Taurus responds to scent and texture, so wear silk, velvet, cashmere, tweed — anything touchable. That s where Taurus lives. [Pg.218]

DYNAXIS />st. SUCHER 1975 appears to link the slgll for Taurus with the SPHERE cf the Dynamis, which is traditionally in terms of the Pseudo-Dlonysian hiorarchies) associated with the SPHERE OF MARS. [Pg.104]

Before mechanical refrigeration systems were introduced, people cooled their food with ice and snow, found or made on-site or gathered in the mountains. This practice survives today in the Taurus Mountains of Turkey. Ice was stored in icehouses usually partially buried in the ground and lined with straw or sawdust. Remains of these structures survive on many farms in Europe and North America. Ice has long been used for space comfort conditioning. In the early nineteenth century, ice was placed in air ducts to cool and dehumidify warm air blown by fans. [Pg.5]

Perhaps the source with the largest fractional abundances of unsaturated complex molecules is the small condensation in the Taurus complex known as TMC-1 (Taurus Molecular Cloud -1) which, although it shows evidence for substructure, can be considered to have average physical conditions (n = 104 cm-3 and T = 10 K). Table 2 contains a comparison of observed4 abundances in TMC-1 for almost 50... [Pg.18]

Milk proteins are subdivided into random coiled caseins, which can be precipitated by acidification of raw skim milk to pH 4.6 at 20°C, and into more globular whey proteins, which remain in the serum after precipitation of the caseins (42). In Table 8, an overview is given of the molecular structure and basic properties of the major protein fractions present in milk. Some specific properties that might be of importance for their determination in foods and food products are also listed. For the young of mammals, including humans, milk is the first and, for most, the only food ingested for a considerable period of time. With the domestication of animals, it became possible to include milk in the diet of adult humans as well. For much of the world, particularly in the West, milk from cattle (Bos taurus) accounts for nearly all the milk processed for human consumption (43). [Pg.140]

The heart of the FFV design is a special sensor located in the fuel line between the fuel tank and the engine. This sensor instantaneously (under 50 milliseconds) determines the concentration of methanol (and/or ethanol) in the fuel. This information is fed to the engine computer which calculates appropriate spark advance and the pulse width of the fuel injector signal for correct fuel volume. Figure 1-2 illustrates the differences in Ford s 1996 Ford Taurus FFV compared to gasoline versions of their Taurus. Ford has built this FFV in models optimized for M85 and for E855. [Pg.12]

The emission characteristics of E85 vehicles are not as well documented as for M85 vehicles however, Ford tested E85 in their 1996 model Taurus flexible fuel vehicle and found essentially no difference in tailpipe emissions compared to using the standard emissions testing gasoline (Indolene). In this test, the engine-out emissions of HC and NOx were lower than for gasoline, but ethanol s lower exhaust gas temperatures were believed to decrease catalyst efficiency slightly... [Pg.16]

The vehicle technology to use E85 is virtually the same as that to use M85, allowing auto manufacturers to quickly build E85 vehicles since they have already engineered M85 vehicles. General Motors introduced a Chevrolet Lumina E85 FFV in the 1992 model year and sold 386 in 1992 and 1993. Ford introduced its E85 FFV Taurus for the 1996 model year and produced between 2500 and 3000 after many years of producing M85 FFV Tauruses. This rapid introduction of E85 vehicles could not be possible without the pioneering work that was done on M85 vehicles first. [Pg.17]

In this review, attention is mainly given to the caseins derived from the Western breeds (e.g., Friesian, Holstein, and Ayrshire) of Bos taurus. Data on other species are included only when results for the cow are not available or are not as detailed or as well established. [Pg.65]

James Kaler, Stars (New York Scientific American Library, 1998), 13. Interestingly, several constellations are now defunct. For example, you no longer hear of the constellations Antinous, Taurus Poniatowski, Noctua the Owl, and Cerberus, although these all have been used for a short time but later rejected. [Pg.210]

Multiple lines of evidence exist for a population of live radionuclides, such as 26Al or 60Fe, which were injected into the proto-solar cloud or disk prior to the formation of CAIs (e.g. Tachibana et al. 2006). Isotopic abundances suggest that the isotopes have originated in a supernova, possibly with a very massive star progenitor that also underwent a Wolf-Rayet phase (Bizzarro et al. 2007). If this interpretation is correct, the Sun must have formed in a very rich and dense stellar cluster, such as the Carina Nebula, very much unlike the Taurus or other low-mass star-forming regions. Luminous massive stars in such clusters may truncate or fully evaporate protoplanetary disks around other cluster members. Two key questions remain open. How close in time and space did the supernova explode... [Pg.21]
