The fonts used to create some types of electronic figure files occasionally cause problems for publishers, in both print and Web publications.The problems can include character substitution, distorted spacing between letters,and copyright infringement. [Pg.357]

The software behind a font is covered by copyright law. Whereas some copyright holders allow open access to their fonts, others exercise some sort of limit. Publishers respect the copyright on fonts and will not use a font without proper permission. [Pg.357]
