Follicular, definition

Menopause is the permanent cessation of menses following the loss of ovarian follicular activity. By definition, it is a physiologic event that occurs after 12 consecutive months of amenorrhea—so the time of the final menses is determined retrospectively. Women who have undergone hysterectomy must rely on their symptoms to estimate the actual time of menopause. 

While several functions for NO have been identified, the signal transduction pathway(s) that are utilized by NO at critical stages of ovarian development have not yet been definitively elucidated. The ecNOS- and iNOS-deficient mice provide excellent tools for the dissection of the relative functions for each isoform in the ovary. Furthermore, the study of ovarian NOS provides an experimental system in which the roles of ecNOS and iNOS in development (follicular and oocyte maturation) and differentiation (formation of the corpus luteum) can be studied. 

SLE showed a major pattern of UIP for one and follicular bronchiolitis with minor NSIP areas for the other (6). In contrast to the other CTDs, the place of NSIP in SLE has not been yet definitely settled (4,6). LIP has been documented in SLE, but whether or not it was simply due to associated SjS is unknown (303-305). Isolated observations of OP have also been published (306-308). 

These findings might have practical implications thus, dietary fiber is known to decrease intestinal transit[122] and, as already discussed, some dietary fiber seems to have a hypocholesterolemic effect. Moreover, Wald et al. recently reported that gastrointestinal transit time was prolonged in the luteal phase of menstrual cycle when compared to the follicular phase[123] finally, many gastrointestinal hormones have a definite effect on small bowel motility [124].
