Solo general flying hours and solo navigation hours for private pilot licences (PPL) have reduced (see Table 10.1), and the minimum hours for a PPL were static at 40 hours from 1947 until 1965. 

The incident data obtained from the AAIB (Air Accident Investigation Bureau) cover just over 1,000,000 flying hours (1996—2014). The following table summarizes the rates for R22s and R24s.

Linear velocities, carrying capacity as cuft of free air per lb of solid (Sat.) and power input as HP/tons per hour (tph) are listed in Table 5.1 as a general guide for a number of substances. These data are for 4-, 5-, and 6-in. lines for 8-in. lines, both Sat. and HP/tph are reduced by 15%, and for 10-in. by 25%. Roughly, air velocities in low positive pressure systems are 2000 ft/min for light materials, 3000 000 ft/min for medium densities such as those of grains, and 5000 ft/min and above for dense materials such as fly ash and cement all of these velocities are of free air, at atmospheric pressure.

The higher the concentration of deet in a repellent, the longer the protection time. In general, products that contain 5%-7% deet provide approximately 90 minutes of complete protection with a single application, whereas those containing 30% deet provide approximately 6 hours of complete protection with one application. Products that contain more than 30% deet provide nearly 10 hours of protection from mosquitoes, stable flies, sand flies, fleas, and ticks. Ultrathon (29%-33% deet) provides 12-hour protection from mosquitoes and ticks. Protection times from bites of Aedes albopictus provided by selected deet-based products under laboratory conditions are summarized in Table 19.2.
