Flow configurations parameter evaluation

The number of cellular parameters that can be evaluated simultaneously depends on the optical and electronic configuration of a given instrument. A flow cytometer may be a single-laser analyzer that can measure three fluorescence colors and two hght scatter parameters (five parameters), or a complex instrument with multiple lasers and detectors capable of recording signals for as many as 13 fluorescence colors (15 parameters) in individual cells. For example, two widely used single-laser instruments, the BD... [Pg.306]

From the view point of the assessment, the quality of an HPLC separation in response to changes in different system variables, such as the stationary phase particle diameter, the column configuration, the flow rate, or mobile phase composition, or alternatively, changes in a solute variable such as the molecular size, net charge, charge anisotropy, or hydrophobic cluster distribution of a protein, can be based on evaluation of the system peak capacity (PC) in the analytical modes of HPLC separations and the system productivity (Peff) parameters in terms of bioactive mass recovered throughput per unit time at a specified purity level and operational cost structure. The system peak capacity PC depends on the relative selectivity and the bandwidth, and can be defined as... [Pg.160]

Parametric Study. A study of the effect of process parameters on the deposition of boron using the static filament apparatus was conducted. The parameters studied include system pressure, reactant gas flow, ratios, electrode separation, and configurations, and field strengths. The evaluation of certain parameters has been quantitative and was based on the weight of boron deposited or on the thickness of the deposit at the midpoint of the filament. Other parameters were evaluated by a qualitative description of the deposit. [Pg.192]
