Fire prevention and emergency training programmes

Identifying groups or individuals in the organization requiring training [Pg.292]

The need for staff training in these situations is consequent higher. Universities, colleges and, to a lesser extent, schools have the problem that staff come and go during the d, and there is no record of who is in attendance for particular classes. [Pg.293]

Before the training needs can be addressed, in workplaces which warrant it, a suitable group should meet to work on emergency planning This will include, for example, arty in-hoirse engineers. [Pg.293]

After addressing these issues a written plan shoirld be drawn up. A short form of this, which is easy to use, should be widely distributed and read. The plan will identify the training needs of different people or groups of people this training should then be carried out. [Pg.293]

The effectiveness of the emergency plan will depend on it being tested - firstly after forewarning occupants - and then followed up by a debriefing. Once appropriate corrections are made after the test, a further unaimounced drill must be held. Once again, after a debriefing make corrections, if aity, based on the experience of the drill. [Pg.293]
