In the figure 8 the upper curve represents the police filter pressure drop, whereas the lower curve represents the pressure drop across the main hot gas filter. 

The petroleum derived jet fuel had a breakpoint temperature of 275 C and had negligible TDR or filter pressure drop at 260 C. 

After a gas turbine has been operating for a long time the inlet filter pressure drop may become high enough to indicate that the filter needs cleaning. The drop in pressure across silencers will remain almost constant the effect of ingress of particles or development of soot can be neglected. 

It is estimated that up to 17 litres of oil was released into the cone of PSP 2 during the June 1991 incidents. Release of oil debris from the pump cone into the main primary circuit was gradual, taking about 1.5 days as indicated by the increase of core subassembly outlet temperatures and the increase in the primary pump valve filter pressure drop. 

Record filter pressure drop every 30 min minimum during the test period. 

If the filter pressure drop begins to rise sharply and it is desired to run a full 150 min test, a bypass valve common to all models must be opened in order to finish the test. See appropriate User Manual for details on operation of the bypass system (see Annex A2.2.2). 

The clean cartridge filter pressure drop is usually specified as less than 0.2 bar. Commonly, cartridges are replaced when the filter differential pressure reaches 0.7 or 1 bar. The operational time before replacement depends on source water quality and the degree of pretreatment. Typically, a cartridge filter replacement is needed onee every 6-8 weeks. However, for high-quality source water cartridge filter useful life may exeeed one year.
