Field chamber research

A few definitive experiments are needed to complete our knowledge of acute dose-response relationships for ozone. Research is necessary in the case of PAN and other oxidants. More important is the need for studies of crop and native species over growing seasons with chronic oxidant exposures. At the same time, additional work with field chambers, filtered or nonfiltered, is needed. [Pg.10]

Research should be continued with filtered and nonfiltered field chambers to study effects of ambient oxidants on important agronomic, horticultural, and native species. We know that there is a problem, but its significance and magnitude are matters of conjecture. [Pg.704]

Susceptibility of munitions to unplanned deton from effects of high-powered electromagnetic fields can be tested wi improved accuracy in one of the newest research facilities at Picatinny Arsenal, Dover, Nj. The electromagnetic hazard simulation chamber is believed unique in its capacity of creating concentrated power (radiation up to lOOOO watts) and dissipating it at the chamber s center for test purposes. The chamber is 70ft long,... [Pg.713]

In this contribution the re-evaluated yields from the OH-radical initiated oxidation of benzene, toluene, p-xylene, and initial results of new simulation chamber experiments on prompt glyoxal formation from isoprene oxidation are presented. A detailed discussion of sources, sinks and their uncertainties to model atmospheric concentrations of glyoxal is presented, and exemplifies how basic research in environmental simulation chambers besides giving input for photochemical models also triggers advancements with measurement techniques for field observations. The integration of laboratory and field observations by models in turn will guide future research on atmospheric chemical processes. [Pg.130]
