Feedforward schematic diagram

Example 10.2 Consider the temperature control of a gas furnace used in heating a process stream. The probable disturbances are in the process stream temperature and flow rate, and the fuel gas flow rate. Draw the schematic diagram of the furnace temperature control system, and show how feedforward, feedback and cascade controls can all be implemented together to handle load changes. [Pg.197]

A generalized schematic diagram for feedforward/feedback control of particle size in a continuous or semicontinuous crystallizer, such as that in Fig. 7-5, is shown in Fig. 7-6. The measurement device can be most easily envisioned as an in-line particle size analyzer such as a Lasentec focused beam reflectance measurement (FBRM), but it could also be a sampler/ offline device combination (even a plain microscope). The most common variant on this control schematic would be elimination of feedforward control, and perhaps of the fines trap as well. [Pg.144]

The basic feedforward neural network performs a non-linear transformation of the input data in order to approximate the output data. This net is composed of many simple, locally interacting, computational elements (nodes/neurons), where each node works as a simple processor. The schematic diagram of a single neuron is shown in Fig 1. The input to each i-th neuron consists of a A-dimensional vector X and a single bias (threshold) bj. Each of the input signals Xj is weighted by the appropiate weight Wij, where] = 1- N. [Pg.380]
