Feasibility assessment advantages

The purpose of the feasibility assessment is to determine whether it is possible to structure the delivery of the proposed subsidies in the form of a voucher scheme. Feasibility assessment also involves making a judgment as to whether doing so is likely to have significant advantages over alternative ways of delivering the subsidies. It may also be necessary to conduct ad hoc studies or pilot tests to determine whether a voucher scheme is feasible and desirable. 

In addition to rodent studies, regulatory guidelines for pharmaceuticals require that repeated dose safety studies of up to nine months (in the United States, six months elsewhere) in duration be conducted in a nonrodent species. The most commonly used nonrodent species is the dog, followed by the monkey and pig. Another nonrodent model used to a limited extent in systemic safety evaluation is the ferret. The major objectives of this chapter are (1) to discuss differences in rodent and nonrodent experimental design, (2) to examine the feasibility of using the dog, monkey, pig, and ferret in safety assessment testing, and (3) to identify the advantages and limitations associated with each species.

Objectives. The goal of our work is to examine and assess the feasiblity of using SC-CO2 as a solvent for free radical chain reactions for synthetic purposes. Because of the "tunable" solvent properties of SC-CO2, this medium offers unique advantages over conventional solvents from a chemical perspective (in addition to its obvious advantages from an environmental perspective). As noted earlier, solvent properties of SC-CO2 such as viscosity and polarity vary as a function of temperature and pressure. It is thus conceivable that for reactions sensitive to the effects of solvent viscosity, solvent polarity, or pressure that reactivity/selectivity could be "dialed-up"... 

Despite all these studies, a recent economic feasibility study of membrane assisted WGSR, conducted to assess its advantages over conventional technology, showed that the concept was not feasible for Pd membrane reactors (Criscuoli et fl/., 2001) and instead supported the use of ceramic membranes (Brachtetfl/., 1996). 

The considerable advantages offered by SMC prompted ERF to assess the feasibility of replacing hand laid-up cab panels with SMC ones. Initial trials were carried out by replacing two panels of the hand laid-up LV cab (the grille and the door mouldings). Following successful trials of these two experimental panels the complete cab was clad in SMC - the B series commercial cab.
