Fabric tape

Unidirectional construction Refers to fibers that are oriented in the same direction, such as unidirectional fabric, tape, or laminate, often called UD. Such parallel alignment is included in pultrusion and filament winding applications. 

Wrapped cure - A vulcanizing process using a tensioned wrapper (usually fabric tape) to apply external pressure. 

If a demonstration of an exploding gas or vapor is performed, it should be done behind a safety shield using glass vessels taped with fabric tape. 

Reinforcements can be in continuous forms (fibers, filaments, woven or non-woven fabrics, tapes, rovings, etc.), chopped forms having different lengths, or discontinuous in form (flakes, whiskers, spheres, etc.). The reinforcements can allow the RP materials to be tailored to the design, or the design tailored to the material.4 173>210...

Fix lid on dish with stripes of fabric tape. Lid and dish should stay in touch and the soft PDMS piUar should visibly be compressed to connect the micropiUars (upper surface) on the cover glass (lower surface). Always place tape at opposite sites to generate homogenous pressure on the micropiUars (Fig. 6E).

Fusible fabric tape isn t the best permanent solution for hemming pants, but if you can iron, you can skip the sewing steps. The tape is great for times when you re traveling (many hotels have irons) or when the hem on your favorite pants falls and you re in a rush to get to a meeting or an appointment. It doesn t last forever. I don t tumble-dry garments with fusible fabric tape in them because the heat of the dryer can weaken or dislodge the tape. 

Use fusible fabric tape only on stiff, heavy fabrics because the tape itself becomes stiff and heavy after it s ironed into your garment. 

It s best for use on cottons and canvas. Fusible fabric tape doesn t stretch, so it will look odd if ironed into flowy or stretchy garments. 

Open Steam Curing - Open steam curing is used in the production of hose, wire and cable, and other extruded articles such as tubing or channel stripping. With this method, the artiele may be in direct contact with the steam, wrapped with fabric tape, encased in an extruded covering of lead, or supported by soapstone in a shielded pan. Equipment m eonsist of a jacketed autoclave or a closed chamber in which the articles are plaeed and steam is introduced. 

In Switzerland, Schindler Waggon AG made a l 2.5-scaled prototype of train cars shown in O Fig. 47.21 (Romagana et al. 1996). The structure was fabricated by the wet filament winding method of knitted multiaxial glass fabric tape onto rigid foam cores supported by ring-shaped frames that were made by the filament winding method too.
