Forming extrusion

The extrusion blow molding process can be continuous or intermittent, as shown in Fig. 14.16. The former, employed commonly for parts less than 1 gal, has a continuously rotating screw extruder, extmding parisons through one or more dies. The latter may use either an accumulator head with a piston-driven extrusion forming of the parison, or a reciprocating screw, such as the one used in injection molding. 

Many catalysts are pellets or extrusions formed from porous particles. Such catalysts usually give a bimodal or wide pore size distribution, and measurements of effective diffusion coefficients based on mean pore radius can be very misleading. Extrusion Forming method in which a mobile plastic material is forced under pressure through a die to take on the specific shape determined by the die profile. 

The basic concept employed in making a nonwoven fabric is to transform fiber-based materials into two-dimensional sheet structures with fabric-like properties.
