Experimentally formed

This model of classical cooperative transitions has been speculated about as an alternative to tunneling. No confirmation for such a scheme exists now. The possibility of representing the experimental form of k(T) as... [Pg.38]

Both algebraic expressions match the experimental form. That is, the schemes are kinetically indistinguishable. It is instructive to consider how they differ. Each has the... [Pg.137]

The rate equation agrees with the experimental form, Eq. (6-14). However, it appears much less plausible than that in Eq. (6-14) in that it requires the intervention of two oxidation states of iron that are highly unusual and unstable under these reaction conditions. [Pg.296]

At the present time, there has been too little experimental forming done at intermediate ammonia pressures. [Pg.345]

Human coercion was to have no visible place in the experimental form of life (...) It was to be nature, not man that enforced assent. [Pg.140]

The experimental form factor P( ) shown in Fig. 12a can be expressed as P q) = [bcFc q,rc) + bsFs q,rc,R )], where bc,bs are the contrast factors for the core (c) and shell (5) with core radius and overall micelle radius R, whereas Fc q), F q) aiQ the scattering amplitudes of the core and shell, respectively. Under core contrast conditions (Z s 0), the expected first minimum for the compact sphere at high q values falls outside the ("/-range, whereas under shell contrast conditions the power-law behavior arising from blob (swollen PEO shell) scattering is observed. Hence, the dual colloid-polymer character of the particle is clearly reflected in Fig. 12a. [Pg.26]

The main objective of performing kinetic theory analyzes is to explain physical phenomena that are measurable at the macroscopic level in a gas at- or near equilibrium in terms of the properties of the individual molecules and the intermolecular forces. For instance, one of the original aims of kinetic theory was to explain the experimental form of the ideal gas law from basic principles [65]. The kinetic theory of transport processes determines the transport coefficients (i.e., conductivity, diffusivity, and viscosity) and the mathematical form of the heat, mass and momentum fluxes. Nowadays the kinetic theory of gases originating in statistical mechanics is thus strongly linked with irreversible- or non-equilibrium thermodynamics which is a modern held in thermodynamics describing transport processes in systems that are not in global equilibrium. [Pg.190]
