Evaluation tools scanning electron microscopy

Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) was used to evaluate the skin thickness of polyvinyl chloride under various conditions. This investigation had two objectives to determine if SEM is a practical tool for quantifying the skin thickness of a polymer and to determine if mold temperature and lubricant concentration effect skin thickness. [Pg.2302]

The properties and performance of cemented carbide tools depend not only on the type and amount of carbide but also on carbide grain size and the amount of biader metal. Information on porosity, grain size and distribution of WC, soHd solution cubic carbides, and the metallic biader phase is obtained from metaHographicaHy poHshed samples.
