European monitoring program

The National Pesticide Survey list (Table 7) is the only one that specifically considers the transformation products (TPs) of pesticides. This is remarkable because in the European Community regulations the importance of TPs of pesticides is indicated [165], and there is no mention of specific TPs. This specification in the European Community list is vague, thus making it difficult for laboratories currently involved in monitoring programs to select and assess the TPs of importance. [Pg.35]

Differences in MRL/tolerances more often reflect differences in the use of that compound in a particular country, or in the choice of safety factors, food consumption values, or the analyte used in monitoring programs. The United States will, but does not always, assign tolerances when preslaughter drug withdrawal period is zero. Generally, the European Union assigns an MRL even when withdrawal periods are not required. [Pg.415]

Europe Spatial and temporal wet deposition data are available for Europe from the European Monitoring and Evaluation Program (EMEP), the European Air Chemistry Network (EACN) in NW Europe, several national programs, and individual studies. Spatial deposition patterns based on EMEP network data for 1985 are shown in Figure 20.9. In general, sulfate concentrations in precipitation have a maximum [ 2.8 mg (S) L ]... [Pg.957]
