Continuing these studies, the CD-spectra of Methyl Orange (MO) xi/ere recorded in presence of soluble polymers prepared from oC-cdx with Ep(dc-cdx-Ep)cr with ethyleneglycol--bis (epoxypropyl) ether (o w-cdx-DiEp ) as well as in presence of 2,6-dimethyl-6-cdx and 2,3 > 6-trimethyl- -cdx. An interesting splitting has been observed in the spectra in the presence of the soluble dv-cdx polymers. 

Fixation with ethyleneglycol-bis-sucdnimidyl-succinate (EGS Pierce) is comparable to glutaraldehyde fixation with respect to the preservation of cellular structures. There exists only little autofluorescence, however, resulting in a much lower background autofluorescence.
