Ethylene dimethylacrylate

Lee and coworkers report on a photo-initiated polymerization for the preparation of poly(butyl methylacrylate-co-ethylene dimethylacrylate) within fused silica capillaries. UV light-initiated polymerization is well suited to monolith formation in restricted spaces since polymer forms only in those areas that are exposed to irradiation. This leads to far greater control over the length and size of the monolithic column formed. The resulting columns are robnst since their separation ability does not deteriorate with time or number of injections and their reprodncibility is excellent. ... [Pg.84]

Peters et al. reported on rod-CEC on a chiral monolith [50] which was prepared by copolymerization of the chiral monomer 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (A -L-valine-3,5-dimethylanilide) carbamate with ethylene dimethylacrylate, 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-l-propanesulfonic acid and butyl or glycidyl methacrylate in the presence of a porogenic solvent. The electrochromatographic enantiomer separation of 7V-(3,5-dinitrobenzoyl)leucine diallylamide was feasible at 25 kV the inlet and outlet buffer vials were both pressurized. [Pg.343]

Added along with the imprinting vinylpyridine are cross-linkers, spacers, or poro-gens. These cross-linkers or spacers should be miscible with the other ingredients, but have shapes that are dissimilar so that they do not become an integral part of the assembly around the template molecule. For naproxen, the cross-linker is ethylene glycol dimethylacrylate (EDMA). [Pg.510]

Polymers of 4,5-dihydrooxazole have been studied for some time, and copolymers have been prepared for such uses as adhesives and coatings. A thermo-sensitive polymer, prepared by copolymerization of 2-isopropyl-4,5-dihydrooxazole and ethylene glycol dimethylacrylate, was developed for bioapplications <92CL1643>. The first polymers of 2,3-dihydrooxazoles were reported <85JHC417>. [Pg.318]
