Ethoxy silane

Etacelasil. 2-Chloroethyl-tris (2-methoxy-ethoxy)-silane [37894 6-5] (Etacelasd, Alsol) (27) is made by the reaction of three moles of 2-methoxyethanol with one mole of Cl2SiCH2Cl. The name Alsol should not be confused with aluminum acetotartrate, also known as Alsol. Etacelasil is... [Pg.424]

Hydrosilylation of divinyl ether has been applied for the synthesis of silacyclopentane 12 using Speier s catalyst (Scheme l)13. One of the two carbon-carbon double bonds was hydrosilylated first with a dialkyl(ethoxy)silane, giving silylethyl vinyl ether 10 in 53-59% yield, which was reduced with LiAlELr to hydrosilane 11. The intramolecular hydrosilylation of 11 affords silacyclopentane 12 in moderate yields (Scheme 1). The reaction with HSiEt2(OEt) gives 12a exclusively in 45% yield, while silacyclohexane 13b is formed as the minor product when HSiMe2(OEt) is used as the hydrosilane (12b/13b = 2.3/1 50% total yield)13. Other intramolecular hydrosilylation reactions useful in organic syntheses will be discussed in the section n.C. (vide infra). [Pg.1691]

Controlled-Pore Glass. Silanol groups on the glass surface provide sites at which silanization may be performed. Silanization may be effectively performed with a 5% aqueous solution of aminopropyltri(ethoxy)silane (APTES),1... [Pg.63]

Untreated silica capillaries show a cathodic drift of buffer, that is a flow of buffer from the anodic to the cathodic end, allowing an on-column detector to be placed near the cathodic end of the capillary. At which end of the capillary should a detector be placed if the inner silanol surface of the capillary has been covalently modified with aminopropyltri(ethoxy) silane, APTES (cf. Chapter 4) ... [Pg.245]

Since the key to gelation is the formation of extensive M-O-M linkages, it can be brought about by the controlled hydrolysis of metalorganics. For example, tetra-ethoxy silane (TEOS) is a metal organic, soluble in ethanol. This solution can be kept stirred with continuous and slow addition of H2O, which brings about the following reactions. [Pg.18]

Because of these reactions only 1 mole of Li reacts instead of two, corresponding with the complete conversion of the ethoxy silane to its lithium derivative. Because of the thermal lability of the ethoxy group, the product was treated with acetyl chloride and (CH3)2ClSi—CH2—Si(CH3)2CH2Cl isolated (17, 22) ... [Pg.376]

In a 1 L 3-necked round bottom flask, duly fitted with a double-surface reflux condenser, mechanical agitator and thermometer, were placed 139.3 g (0.941 mol) of freshly distilled dimethyl diethoxy silane and 111 g (0.941 mol) trimethyl ethoxy silane. [Pg.293]
