Equipment parallel pressure reactor

Other microwave-assisted parallel processes, for example those involving solid-phase organic synthesis, are discussed in Section 7.1. In the majority of the cases described so far, domestic multimode microwave ovens were used as heating devices, without utilizing specialized reactor equipment. Since reactions in household multimode ovens are notoriously difficult to reproduce due to the lack of temperature and pressure control, pulsed irradiation, uneven electromagnetic field distribution, and the unpredictable formation of hotspots (Section 3.2), in most contemporary published methods dedicated commercially available multimode reactor systems for parallel processing are used. These multivessel rotor systems are described in detail in Section 3.4. [Pg.77]

The function of the ROPS is to reduce the reactor pressure at the postulated beyond design basis accident related with a control system failure. The system consists of two parallel trains which are connected to the PZR through a single pipeline. Two trains are also combined to a single pipeline connected to the internal shielding tank. Each train is equipped with... [Pg.82]

Parallel to this, special expertise is being built up on HTR fiiel and HTR reactor vessels. Experiments are being performed on oxidation and interaction with fission products of SiC as well as the stability of UOj/UCj mixtures. The pressure vessel stress assessment code ISAAC is being equipped with a fracture mechanics and creep assessment feamre for high temperatures, to be able to design a licensable HTR pressure vessel in the near future. [Pg.49]

Steam is releasedfrom the blow tank in front of the extraction unit. Figure 4. The poison is stored in two separate pressurized tanks, each of which supplies three injection lines. Each tank is equipped with three parallel discharge valves (two explosive and one pneumatic). The poison is forced into the reactor by gas pressure maintained in each storage tank. Either half of the SSS contains sufficient poison to shut down the reactor from full power Injection persists long enough for the poisoned moderator to circulate through the external system and reenter the core from the plenum. If spuriously activated, the gadolinium nitrate can be removed from the moderator by deionization, and the reactor can be started within several days after activation. The SSS can be actuated manually from either the reactor control console or from the two other panels in the central control room. [Pg.309]
