Environmentally Friendly Polymer Blends from Renewable Resources

3 Environmentally-Friendly Polymer Blends from Renewable Resources [Pg.425]

Green Nanocomposites from Renewable Resource-Based Biodegradable Polymers and Environmentally-Friendly Blends... [Pg.403]

A special group of polymers, which have been derived from renewable resources, has attracted great interest in the past two decades for two major reasons first, environmental concerns, and second, the rising cost of oil. For these reasons, research into alternative polymeric materials that are eco-friendly, as well as improving the cost effectiveness of the production and utilization of these materials in the marketplace, has been expedited. The wide application of polymers from renewable resources (PFRR) in the marketplace has been restricted, primarily due to deficiencies in mechanical and physical properties. Like conventional polymers, such as polyolefins, the properties of polymers from renewable resources can also be improved through blending and through the manufacture of composites [1, 2],... [Pg.217]
