Enumerated lists

Grammar and mechanics Haes pays careful attention to parallelism and punctuation, most notably in her enumerated lists. Haes s lists are grammatically parallel, and she uses punctuation (i.e., colons, commas, and semicolons) appropriately. 

We used a pointer to highlight parallelism in enumerated lists in excerpts 14E and 14F. Test your knowledge of parallelism by completing exercise 14.9. 

The expected outcomes themselves are often presented in an enumerated list. Like the timeline in move 1, the list often contains fragments with few or no verbs, as illustrated in the following list of expected outcomes adapted from Johnson (2003) ...

Lonally, the templates were chosen by trial and error or exhaustive enumeration. A itafional method named ZEBEDDE (ZEolites By Evolutionary De novo DEsign) en developed to try to introduce some rationale into the selection of templates et al. 1996 Willock et al. 1997]. The templates are grown within the zeolite by an iterative inside-out approach, starting from a seed molecule. At each jn an action is randomly selected from a list that includes the addition of new (from a library of fragments), random translation or rotation, random bond rota-ing formation or energy minimisation of the template. A cost function based on erlap of van der Waals spheres is used to control the growth of the template ale ... 

There have been many more basis sets developed, but the list above enumerates the most widely used ones. Some of these sets were the work of many different authors and later improved. This sometimes results in different programs using the same name for two slightly different sets. It is also possible to combine basis sets or modify them, wliich can result in either poor or excellent results, depending on how expertly it is done. How to customize basis sets is discussed in Chapter 28. 

Several other chemical reactions are also widely used for the synthesis of these polymers. This list enumerates some of the possibilities and Table 5.3 illustrates these reactions by schematic chemical equations ... 

For some material it is not useful to construct title sentences as described above. In these cases hierarchical lists, in which the topics are enumerated, are more appropriate. To inform the reader fully about the nature of the material being described, the headings of connected sections that are superior in hierarchy always occur as running heads at the top of each page.

For read-only functions such as isFree, check whether there is some way the information could be extracted from every snapshot. 

Components manufactured in accordance with standards listed in Table IP-8.1 shall be considered suitable for use at pressure-temperature ratings in accordance with para. The transformation used above to enumerate tautomers would lead to identical products when applied to symmetrically substituted pyrazoles. The set of structures generated in the enumeration process is converted to a sorted list of canonical SMILES [23] from which duplicates are easily eliminated. Structures registered in alternative tautomeric forms are converted to identical lists of SMILES that can each be represented by their common first member. This effectively extends the definition of canonical SMILES to cover an ensemble of tautomeric forms and makes it possible to check for duplicate structures without having to register multiple forms [16, 26].
