Enforcement Actions and Inspections

The EPA has had a very active enforcement program for PCB violations. It also actively enforces the PCB regulations through civil penalty proceedings. [Pg.388]

In fiscal year 2008 it inspected 112 facilities for PCB compliance. The EPA pubhshed a PCB Inspection ManuaP describing the inspection process for inspectors who are reviewing PCB compliance at facilities. It contains detailed summaries of all of the PCB regulations and has charts of the specific requirements appUcable to PCB incinerators, chemical waste landfills, high efficiency boilers, and scrap metal recovery ovens and smelters.
