Energy savings categories

In this sub-chapter we intend to give an overview of household appliances using the different gas sensor principles mentioned in the previous chapters. The appliances can be divided into two categories gas sensors for safety and for comfort. Natural gas and CO-alarm systems for example are safety-relevant whereas air quality measurement, control of self-cleaning of ovens etc. are more or less a matter of comfort or energy-saving. 

Hence, the below-listed energy saving strategies for spray drying processes correspond to the three main categories that are mentioned above. 

The selection of recycling method depends on various factors such as pavement condition, road category, traffic volume, age of pavement, past interventions, availability of equipment/ machinery, expected pavement performance after recycling, cost and energy saving achieved. Selecting the most appropriate recycling method is not an easy task, since many parameters, which vary from one project to another, are involved.

Since the plastics are produced from petrochemicals derived from hydrocarbons, the motivation to reuse, recycle, or reprocess for energy recovery is primarily driven by an interest in conservation of petroleum resources. Economic factors are also important, but the potential saving of landfill space is more a perception rather than a reality [9]. Most of the categories of vinylic polymers discussed in this chapter are melt-formable, that is, they are thermoplastic materials, rather than nonmelting or thermosetting as are several of the condensation polymers discussed in Chapters 20 and 21. Optimisation is an advanced feature in flowsheeting. The first step is the formulation of an objective function, which may be of technical or economic nature. In the first category we may cite the yield of transformation of raw materials in products, the energy consumed or saved in a process, the amount of emissions or impurities, etc. An economic function can be the total operation cost, the profit, or a measure of profitability, as the rate of return on investment (see Chapter 15). 

The decrease within the majority of the environmental impact categories can be related to the savings in energy consumption, the reduction in solvent use and the increase in the reaction yield achieved in the microscale laboratory set-up. These...
