Electrical tracking

One disadvantage of many of these materials, however, is their rather poor electrical tracking resistance. 

In a general comparison with phenolic resins, the U-F materials are cheaper, light in colour, are lacking in odour, have better resistance to electrical tracking but have an inferior heat resistance and a higher water absorption. 

Very small particles can be collected but large ones (above 5 pm) can cause arcing across the narrow gap between collector plates. A coarse filter should first remove these large particles. Precipitators are not normally suitable for wet environments since excessive moisture can cause electrical tracking and failure. Resistance to airflow is negligible. 

Electrically tracks the sun to within 1° without any adjustment-year in and year out. 

Decabromodiphenyl ether continues to be a popular fire-retardant additive for polyamide 6, its cost, high bromine content, and good thermal stability make it an attractive product. In Europe and the United States, most of its applications have been replaced by brominated polystyrene in order to address environmental issues. Brominated polystyrene is less expensive than the other polymeric fire retardants and has very good thermal stability. Moreover, it contributes to good electrical tracking index. On the other hand, it has lower efficacy as a fire retardant. 

Several methods may be used to deliver specimens to the laboratory, which is often in a location distant from the patient. These include courier service, pneumatic tube systems, electric track vehicles, and mobile robots. In some laboratories, phlebotomists may also bring specimens with them as they return to the laboratory.

The superior electrical tracking resistance of SPS (Rg. 15.10) is well suited for the connectors, terminal and fuse holders, etc., that are needed for this evolving market. With a CTl of 600V, SPS offers good protection against terminal-to-terminal short circuits and other benefits to the electronic architecture needed to integrate 600-V electrical power systems into vehicles.
