Edge tapering

Use wide ribs with rounded edges. Taper each rib from the center to both sides and round off edges. Increase spacing if possible Crown the base and round off all corners... 

To produce tapered edge waHboard, tapered belts are added to the mbber conveyor belt that carries and supports the board while the gypsum core sets up, typically in about four minutes. 

Spiral-roller units are usually equipped with tapered rollers to compensate for the difference in distance traveled by the inner and outer edges of the container. Tapered rollers are also used on curved sections of ordinary roller-conveyor lines. 

Early trailing edge design was eomprised of a C-shaped spar bonded to upper and lower facesheets with honeyeomb eore between (Fig. 36). The spar was either a simple extrusion if eonstant dimension, or built-up from two L-shaped legs if it needed to taper from one end to the other. Faeesheets were simple eonstant-thiekness sheet material. 

Capsugel has also developed the Coni-Snap SuproR capsule (Fig. 6). Similar to Coni-Snap in regard to locking mechanism and tapered body edge, this capsule differs in that it is short and squat and the cap overlaps the body to a greater degree [21].

The inside edges of the finished opening shall, whenever possible, be rounded to a 3 mm (V8 in.) radius. If the encircling member is thicker than the header and is welded to the header, the ends shall be tapered down to the header thickness and continuous fillet welds shall be made.
