Isobutylphenylacetic acid (ibufenac, Dytransin), / -Mc2-GH GHg GgH4 GHj GO OH, possesses anti-inflammatory and analgesic activities 2-4 times those of acetylsalicylic acid measured by an ultra-violet erythema test and by the method of Randall and Sellito, and antipyretic properties 4 times those of acetylsalicylic acid. In a dose of 960 mg it is effective in delaying the development of ihurfyl nicotinate erythema in man . [Pg.93]

Aryl Acetic Acids - The a-methyl homolog of ibufenac (Dytransin), ibuprofen (VI), is 4 to 8 times more active ib anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic assays, but the increased potency was not confirmed in a brief clinical study. Unlike other aryl acetic acids, both d and 1 enantiomorphs are active in animals, although only dextro-rotatory metabolites with oxidized isobutyl side-chains were isolated as principle urinary metabolites. ... [Pg.219]
