Dynamics coastal current

Coastal Current is essential to unraveling complex chemical cycles in this dynamic coastal environment. 

Hydromorphological monitoring generally relies on series of elements such as assessment of quantity and dynamics of flow, connections to groundwater, continuity, channel patterns, width/depth variations, substrate conditions, structure and condition of the riparian zone in the case of rivers, residence time, lake depth variation, tidal flow regime, substrate condition and structure and condition of the intertidal zone, freshwater flow regime and direction and speed of dominant currents for transition/coastal waters. 

The dynamics behind the Kelvin wave front changes completely. The divergence of the Ekman offshore transport is balanced by the divergence of the coastal jet in the surface layer and the divergence of the Ekman compensation current in the sub-thermocline layer is balanced by the longshore divergence of a coastal undercurrent flowing in opposite direction to the upper layer coastal jet.
