Another example of a demanding exterior application now made in PP is the cowl vent grill, which separates the windscreen from the upper edge of the bonnet. A one-shot dual-injection-molding process can be used to create a rigid structural section using a mineral filled copolymer in combination with a soft reactor TPO (Catalloy) seal. 

There are also sophisticated variations— machines with dual injection heads that can inject two different materials or colors at several stations. With this equipment one color can be injected into a cavity and filled to a predetermined block off or seal. At a later station a second color is injected after a relative motion has taken place within the mold. Certain specialized products or components lend themselves to this two-color or two-material process. In this type of molding, temperature and pressures are critical, particularly when good knit and adhesion are specified. In most cases a 12-station machine is used, with injection at the first and sixth stations. ...

Head comfort Soft, flexible temples will flex to fit safely and comfortably to a thin, midsize or wide head. A high degree of flexibility reduces pressure on the worker s head and provides a comfortable fit without pinching or squeezing. Some frame designs accomplish flexing with a thin temple and soft materials, while others feature dual-injected TPR temples. 

Also known as dual injection, sandwich moulding, 2K (or 3K). It can be recognised by the production of a defined skin and core structure. The core is fully encapsulated, to produce a sandwich like moulding.
