Dry agglomerates

Small, complex-shaped glass articles such as thread guides for the textile industry and television gun mounts for the electronics industry are made by the multiform process. The dry-milled powder is mixed with an inorganic binder and a fluid vehicle, and then atomi2ed by a spray dryer into small, dried agglomerates of glass powder and binder with good flow characteristics. They are subsequently pressed to the desired shape and fired. [Pg.310]

Dry agglomerates formed by dry handling. These are loosely held particles and aggregates cushioned from one another with absorbed air. They may range in size up to V4 inch (11). [Pg.82]

SESR is applicable for soils contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls (RGBs), and pentachlorophenol (PCP). The technology has been demonstrated to fix heavy metals and remove hydrocarbon contaminants simultaneously. After treatment, soluble salts can be leached from the dried, agglomerated soil. [Pg.811]

Large dry agglomerates are usually the result of uncontrolled granule growth. Solving the problem usually involves adjusting superficial air velocity, spray conditions, and spray nozzle arrangement. [Pg.85]

Agglomerates often contain moisture. If this is the case they must be dried prior to determination of the solid mass and density. The solid mass of a dry agglomerate is... [Pg.73]

A typical example is shown in Figure 67. The tensile strength Ut of dry agglomerates, obtained after removal of the crust, is plotted versus the drying temperature The parameter is the liquid saturation before drying. This diagram was obtained using a nearly saturated salt (sodium chloride) solution and a narrowly sized limestone powder. [Pg.100]

Gerhards (1998) characterized instant coffee agglomerates at different equilibrium relative humidities. Dry agglomerates (aw = 0.11) had a highly jagged relationship typical of brittle materials, while moist agglomerates (aw = 0.69) had a smooth, concave upward curve characteristic of a... [Pg.273]
