Doors pulls

Dos Caminos, on Park Avenue South at 26th Street, is a large, loud establishment behind two tall black doors with brushed-chrome D and C door pulls that look like the world s biggest Banana Republic belt buckle. [Pg.36]

More recent uses have been for forming dies and jigs, weaving shuttles, knife handles, glass door pulls and railroad track connectors where electrical resistance is needed for automatic signaling systems. [Pg.140]

Another hazard for some vehicles is catching on protmding objects during operation. For example, forklifts often carry loads into or out of tmck trailers. Some rollup doors on truck trailers have short, flat straps for pulling a door down. A short loop of flat, stiff material is not likely to catch on the frame of a forklift or its load. However, if the door pull is merely a piece of round rope, the rope may catch in a pinch point on the mast of the forklift. If there is a knot in the rope, the likelihood of catching increases. If the doorpuU catches, it can pull the trailer door onto the load or forklift operator. [Pg.204]

Round all leading edges which the operator may come into direct contact with whenever possible. Try to recess the external hardware like hinges, door pulls, knobs, etc., as much as possible to avoid contacting the operator. [Pg.318]

These are represented by classes D and A respectively in Fig. 4.4. The first category includes parts which could impact the driver in a collision, such as B pillar covers and the lower part of the instrument panel, and its adjacent trim panels. Unreinforced ABS and a variety of PP copolymers are commonly used for these components. The same tough, resilient materials are used for the components which need protection from the passengers feet (seat valances, kick plates), or from their golf clubs (boot liners). Door pulls arc also usually moulded from unmodified PP copolymers. Figure 4.7 shows a variety of interior panels in PP. [Pg.78]

If a cylinder containing poisonous gas is leaking, immediately leave the room, close the doors, pull the nearest fire alarm, evacuate the area, and report the emergency. The supplier should be contacted for disposal of the cylinder once the emergency situation is stabilized. [Pg.47]

Arriving for his first day at the old tobacco warehouse that housed Kettering s firm, Dayton Engineering Laboratories Company, Midgley recalled, I was trying to open the door that looked like the front door of the building, but which was locked. As I strained and pulled at it, a rather lanky individual called out to me, Hey, bud, the architects just stuck that door on to look right to fool people. You get in on the side. Follow me. ... [Pg.81]

A booby trap device which may be activated by a pull wire or by tilting of object to which applied, such as luggage, door handle, or hinged cover of box. [Pg.14]

Z remained the center of attention. When he found the door locked, he again attempted to escape through the medicine cabinet. As he contorted his body into various alarming positions, H finally pulled him back from taking a header. [Pg.132]

There were a few times we didn t have electricity and our door was boarded up and it was just pulled off the sides and you just had to go in and sit with candles... We didn t really have much at all, there was a few times there wasn t any food at all but I think I lived on pieces [sandwiches] and chocolate spread for ages. [Pg.86]

The chamber had an entranco-dcor, which could be luted tight this was opened, and a charge, consisting of a mixture as before of sulphur and nitre, was put on a proper stand placed to receive it in the chamber. Benzon was about my age, a stocky, honest-looking lad with a smear of jewelers rouge on his hand to suggest that he had been cleaning silverware. He looked reasonably scared already by the unexpected summons. He bowed and was told to shut the door, but not told to pull up the third chair. [Pg.41]

Missier Grandeclosed the door and stood in front of it, arms folded. Imer and Benzon began pulling chairs closer to the table. The four nobleman finished up in front of the Maestro like children before a teacher, but the rest of us were content to sit back against the wall. I certainly was, because I found myself next to Violetta. By purest chance, of course. She ignored me, attentive to the odious Pasqual at her other side. [Pg.154]

One of the guards offered Angel a hand up into the APC. She waved it off, pulling herself inside and leaving him to heave the door closed. She waited for the troopers to take their seats, while she remained standing, grabbing a handhold. [Pg.113]

Voices and approaching footsteps had him backing up immediately. The door was pulled open and he heard, It was a close thing, if he cares to know, but you can tell Mr Garudin she will live. ... [Pg.118]

Back from lunch and after a very brief time for quiet reflection (i.e., nap), the attorney screws up his courage and takes the envelope from his assistant s desk when his assistant is not looking. He then quickly ducks back into his office, pulling the door shut behind him. After that last fiasco, I think I better keep these USPTO letters to myself from now on, he thinks. Inhaling deeply, he opens the correspondence from the USPTO and reads the relevant portions ... [Pg.309]
