Doff-it kits

Substantial amounts (90%) of contamination can be removed by simply removing clothing and shoes. All potentially contaminated p>ersons should be instructed to remove their clothes immediately (blankets, paper gowns, or Doff-it kits should be provided—see Practical Skills 2 ). Further decontamination is accomplished by trashing with soap and water. Runoff water should be contained when possible but... 

Try to respect modesty by separating males and females. The Doff-it kits are helpful because the victims can wear the ponchos during wet decontamination. 

Have them remove their clothing, jewelry, and other items, including footwear and underwear, and place them in appropriate hazardous material bags that are labeled with the patient s name (Doff-it kits are good here). If at all possible, separate male and female patients during decontamination to respect modesty. You should be in Level B attire unless It has been determined that Level C is adequate (Figure S2.3). 

Have them remove their clothing, footwear, underwear, and personal items. Either leave these items in place or place them in a hazardous material bag labeled with the patient s name (use Doff-it kit if available).
