Distillation preparatory

One distinguishes preparatory distillations that are designed to separate the fractions for subsequent analysis from non-preparatory analytical distillations that are performed to characterize the feed itself. For example, the distillation curve that gives the recovered volume or weight as a function of the distillation temperature characterizes the volatility of the sample. [Pg.17]

Dissolve freeze dried material in a minimum of double-distilled water, filter through a 0.45-pm HA-Millipore filter and chromatograph by preparatory LC—i.e., place ten... [Pg.893]

The syllabus at UG level has not seen any major changes for the contents except in the last revision (2002-2007), when micro-scale techniques were introduced at second and third year of UG. The syllabus that has undergone major change in this revision is the second year PG syllabus. Greater emphasis has been given to preparatory chemistry and separation using chromatography and other advanced distillation procedures. The project component which was introduced as part of the revised syllabus emphasises the experimental project or placement in an industry (6-8 weeks). [Pg.331]

The fibers can be separated into two groups with respect to preparatory treatment at this point. Some of them were soaked in distilled water for 8 hr. Others were washed three times with distilled water, soaked in distilled water at 90°C for 1 hr, and finally soaked in distilled water for 8 hr at room temperature. This last set of fibers will be referred to, hereafter, as stabilized the changes brought about by the stabilization process and the reasons for its use will be discussed subsequently. [Pg.690]

As preliminary products, obtained by the distillation of organic liquids or test materials, preparatory to the subsequent tests. [Pg.51]

Drug Administration extraction procedures can be concentrated by evaporation in a water bath. No satisfactory extraction procedure has been found for concentrating the liquid paraffin extractant. Finally, the extracts are dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate, evaporated to dryness and made up to 2 ml with distilled water or another appropriate spectroscopic solvent, preparatory to ultraviolet spectroscopy. Such... [Pg.79]
