Disposable face masks

Protect yourself. Wear gloves rated to be chemical proof, safety glasses, and a plastic apron. Use a disposable face mask or respirator when mixing chemicals or if you have had any previous allergic reaction. If you have any type of reaction, consult a physician immediately and suspend work with all photographic processes. [Pg.160]

Basic non-powered air purifying respirators consist of masks (Figure 6.48), which can be reusable or disposable. They are designed to protect the wearer from solid particles (mildly toxic or irritant) and water-based aerosols. Disposable face masks should preferably be easy to put on, have strong head straps, soft inner face pieces and adjustable nose pieces and they should fit well over the face. The outer shell should be resistant to moisture. [Pg.444]

Do not carry anti-dust face mask, disposable hand gloves, or other working tools to lockers. [Pg.147]

Perchloric acid spilled on the floor or bench top represents a significant hazard, especially if allowed to dry. It should not be mopped up, nor should dry combustibles be used to soak up the acid. The spilled add should first be neutralized and then soaked up with wet rags or spill pillows. The contaminated wipes must be kept wet to prevent combustion upon drying. They should be placed in a plastic bag and sealed and then placed in a flammable waste disposal can. Unless the publicaUy owned water treatment works (POTW) does not allow it, since perchloric add dissolves easily in water, the spill can be safety rinsed into the sanitary drain, followed by substantial quantities of water. The workers should wear a chemical splash goggles or a face mask, chemical gloves, coveralls, and protective shoe covers. [Pg.303]

The use of disposable laboratory garments can eliminate the problem of cleaning chemically exposed garments and reduce the spread of chemical aerosols outside the laboratory. In addition to a laboratory coat, head and shoe covers and gloves (latex and neoprene types) should be provided. Each employee should be fitted with a full-face-mask respirator containing cartridges to remove dust and organic vapors. [Pg.101]

EVA is thermoplastic and it is available in various forms depending on the level of co-polymer in the vinyl acetate. This affects the elasticity of the material and also the performance of adhesives. EVA is used for disposable gloves, hoses, tubes and anaesthesia face masks. Table 4.5 gives some typical adhesive shear strengths for this versatile material. [Pg.65]

Optional coveralls, chemical-resistant disposable outer boot-covers, hard hat, face shield Full-face or half mask, air purifying respirators (NIOSH approved)... [Pg.118]

Optional gloves, chemical-resistant disposable outer boots, safety glasses or chemical splash goggles, hard hat, escape mask, face shield... [Pg.118]

When exhaust ventilation is not feasible, respiratory protection shall be used depending on the risk assessment disposable FPP3-type mask or full- or half-face respirators. [Pg.195]
