Disease control pattern recognition

The recognition of a relative deficiency of IF-10 in asthma and its potential antiinflammatory activity by inhibition of cytokine release has prompted interest in the potential of IF-10 replacement therapy in asthma. Recombinant human IF-10 has been administered as a weekly infusion to patients with inflammatory bowel disease, where a similar pattern of cytokines is expressed, and has been shown to be remarkably effective in disease control (357). [Pg.167]
