Discovery research adaptability

Online LC-MS is a good solution for separation, identification, and quantification because it permits the confirmation of polar and nonvolatile compounds without need for derivatization.4 The use of LC-MS for biological sample detection and data analysis has grown rapidly during the past few years. Many reliable and easy to use LC-MS systems are commercially available and have been adapted for solving analytical problems by scientists in proteomics research, metabolic study, complex natural product separation and characterization, and drug discovery. 

The conservative Scottish textile manufacturers were slow to adapt to this new dye, and the leadership of innovation went to French textile manufacturers by default. When Empress Eugenie of France wore mauve in public, it impressed Queen Victoria to wear mauve at her daughter s wedding, so there was a wave of enthusiasm for synthetic dye. Perkin became very successful in commerce, and gave up business for chemistry research later in life. Fie was knighted in 1906, at the 50-year anniversary of his discovery, and died in 1907. Mauve had a short commercial life, as its early success led to further experimentations that produced many better dyes, particularly in Germany. This marked the beginning of the synthetic dye industry, which was the first modern chemical industry. 

Cockburn, Henderson, and Stern also study the manner by which the new technology was adapted. They find that the new technology was an important factor for pharmaceutical research and yet has been characterized by a relatively low rate of diffusion. The increasing importance of new biological discoveries for the design of pharmaceutical products required new capabilities.

Flexibility and adaptability The ability to adapt to changes in research study parameters and timelines is important to understanding the dynamic nature of the drug discovery and development process. A CSO needs to be able to interact effectively with a client to modify a study design or an ongoing research study.
