Disclosure policy, government

Meanwhile, chemical innovation goes on. Expectations are set, confidences shared, submissions to Government made, and work proceeds normally with research and development. A new social policy favoring disclosure may be in the works, while somewhere in China a factory manager is wondering what mysterious measures the Western Countries will come up with next. This worldwide concern will be with us for years to come. [Pg.140]

In New Zealand, the 1991 Resource Management Act outlined disclosure requirements, but these were mainly limited to local authorities. However, matters are now progressing further, as the government is proposing a policy initiative to develop state of the environment reporting and to amend the 1993 Companies Act to introduce a requirement for statutory disclosure of environmental impacts by companies. [Pg.41]

There are additional requirements imposed in these policies, which are beyond the scope of this chapter. Additional elements include requirements such as voluntary disclosure or full cooperation with government officials. Whether or not to comply with these additional requirements is the type of Judgment which can only be made on a case-by-case basis, after consultation between management and legal counsel, and an analysis of all the consequences flowing from the particular situation. [Pg.444]
