Disabilities, people with targeting programs

Some targets derive from administrative, legal, ethical, or professional standards. For example, in some cases service standards regulate such things as access to program premises (hours of operation, minimum size of the reception area, and/or presence of ramps to facilitate access by people with disabilities). [Pg.208]

The two basic options for income support for people with disabilities are providing them with specific disability-targeted programs (contributory or not) and/or including them in general social assistance programs in addition to complementing these options with other services. [Pg.366]

Many disability-targeted programs are also means tested. Indeed, of the 18 programs in developing countries that Mitra (2005) describes as providing social assistance to people with disabilities, 16 are means tested but only half are disability tested. [Pg.368]
