Dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide

Tosca P, Grossi I, Brooker M, et al. Toxicity comparison of liposomes comprised of dio-leoyltrimethylammonium propane dioleoylphosphatidylethanolamine (DOTAP DOPE) or dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide dioleoylphosphatitidylethanolamin E (DDAB DOPE) following multiple IY injections in Fischer 344 rats. Tox Sci 2003 72(S-1) 303. [Pg.33]

Dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide was obtained from Kodak and used without further purification. Chloroform was used as the spreading solvent and was redistill before use. All other chemicals were of analytical grade and used as received. The water used as a subphase was of Milli-Q grade with a resistivity higher than 18 M cm. [Pg.416]

The BLM vesicles are usually prepared from amphiphiles with two long alkyl chains. This leads to 32 or so CH goups per molecule, which is enough to produce the desired insolubility. Typical examples are natural phospholipids (see Table 2.2.3) and dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide (DODAB). The inner... [Pg.106]

A 0.01 M solution of dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide (DDAB) in toluene (2 mL) was chosen as the organic liquid membrane. The external aqueous source phase (20 mL) was a 0.50 M KCl solution with 1.0 mM Cd(II), Pb(II), and Zn(II). The internal aqueous receiving phase (2 mL) was pure water. The ultrasonication (100 W, 200 Hz for 60 s) of the membrane and receiving phases produced a W/O emulsion that was poured into the stirred source phase (600 rpm) to form a W/O/W emulsion system (14). [Pg.309]
