Digestion time

Comparative studies were performed to evaluate microwave digestion with conventional sample destmction procedures. These included the analysis of shellfish, meats, rocks, and sods. Generally, comparable accuracy at much shorter digestion time was found for the MAE vs the classical digestion method (39).

RDF products from El —> E3 have got high chlorine content in comparison with that of other RDF (see Table 9). In this experiment, digesting time was noticed by the leachate volume. But in R1 —> R3, waste was taken out of bio-box when water content was stable in around 6 weeks.

The combination of proteolytic enzyme digestion and heat-based treatments has been reported however, this increases the susceptibility of the tissues for disintegration. Significant shortening of the digestion time and reduction of the enzyme concentration should be undertaken when testing such protocols. Furthermore, reproducible proteolytic enzyme treatments require optimal conditions for individual tissues, which make these protocols difficult to perform. 

This protocol can be nsed as a fu-st-mn attempt at tissue disaggregation. Fnrther experience with the tissue will probably yield insights as to the best enzyme types, enzyme concentration, digestion time, and digestion temperature. 

Selection of digestion time By means of the time switch, at the left ftont comer, the time interval per digestion zone can be set at ftom 2 to 60 minutes. Multiplying this by live gives the total digestion time for transporting the vessels through the VAO. 

With this programme, the vessels reach a maximum temperature of 270°C at zone four. The total digestion time would be 3S minutes. Applications include measurement of total recoverable metals in waste water and the measurement of trace metals in air filters. 

Thus, it delays carbohydrate digestion, prolongs digestion time and reduces the rate of glucose absorption thereby lowering postprandial hyperglycemia.

Modern microwave digestion systems monitor both pressure and temperature in the containers. As the temperature or pressure reaches the set point, power to the oven is cut. The oven power as well as the maximum pressure and temperatures can be set. Both digestion time and oven power can be programmed so that each sample is treated in a reproducible manner. The initial digestion is done slowly at low temperature, and the temperature is increased after the majority of the readily digested matrix is dissolved.
