Diagram quality

Thus, carrying out tests of the samples shows that the acoustic emission method is quite effective at the quality estimation of carbon plastic and its adhesive joints. Depending on the chosen diagnostic diagram of the construction material loading, the criteria parameters are K, S or AS (a C). [Pg.85]

In tenns of an electrochemical treatment, passivation of a surface represents a significant deviation from ideal electrode behaviour. As mentioned above, for a metal immersed in an electrolyte, the conditions can be such as predicted by the Pourbaix diagram that fonnation of a second-phase film—usually an insoluble surface oxide film—is favoured compared with dissolution (solvation) of the oxidized anion. Depending on the quality of the oxide film, the fonnation of a surface layer can retard further dissolution and virtually stop it after some time. Such surface layers are called passive films. This type of film provides the comparably high chemical stability of many important constmction materials such as aluminium or stainless steels. [Pg.2722]

The use of various statistical techniques has been discussed (46) for two situations. For standard air quality networks with an extensive period of record, analysis of residuals, visual inspection of scatter diagrams, and comparison of cumulative frequency distributions are quite useful techniques for assessing model performance. For tracer studies the spatial coverage is better, so that identification of meiximum measured concentrations during each test is more feasible. However, temporal coverage is more limited with a specific number of tests not continuous in time. [Pg.334]

Define the processes that manage, specify, achieve, and control produci/service quality and who performs each stage in the process, preferably in the form of flow diagrams. [Pg.122]

Produce, agree, and publish flow diagrams of the processes that contribute to the achievement of quality and identify the interfaces and responsibilities. [Pg.153]

A eopv ol this specification is normally attached to a bid request form, which includes a pressure vessel specification sheet such as the one shown in Figure 12-4, This sheet contains schematic vessel drawings and pertinent specifications and thus defines the vessel in enough detail so the manufacturer can quote a price and so the operator can be sure that all quotes represent comparable quality. The vessel connections (nozzle schedules) are developed from mechanical flow diagrams. It is not necessary for the bidder to know the location of the nozzles to submit a quote or even to order material. [Pg.341]

Use Fishbone diagrams to identify all the process needs. This will draw heavily on the work to identify the PSM and ESH programs and elements and the Quality Management requirements. It will also identify any special expertise, information or equipment needs. Fishboning is described in several of the quality management references given in Chapter 1, and an example is provided in Exhibit 5-4. [Pg.66]

Fishbone Diagrams are cause-and-effect diagrams used in quality management to help describe all the activities that can influence the management process and its outcome. These diagrams show the relationship between different activities and how they are grouped around specific types of activity. [Pg.185]

Pareto Diagrams are used in quality management programs to reveal the pattern of variation in performance and any predominant tendency. The data are displayed in the form of a histogram. [Pg.186]

The expense of fabrication and erection of this equipment certainly warrants recognition of the quality of methods as well as extra checking time prior to initiating fabrication. The general process symbol diagram of Figure 8-1 will be used as reference for the systems and methods pre-... [Pg.1]

Quality of a Wet Vapor, in the vapor-liquid region of a pure substance, the composition of a two-phase system (at given T and P) varies from pure saturated liquid at the bubble jjoint M to pure saturated vapor at the dew point N along the line MQN on the P- V diagram (Figure 2-80). For a wet vapor represented by an intermediate... [Pg.345]

Diameter control. Parameter 6, is important to the final quality of the obtained crystal. The sides of the crystal need to be straight because they reflect the regularity of the lattice planes within the crystal. Effects of deviation from "correct growing conditions on the quality of the crystal so-produced are shown in the following diagram, given as 6.4.8. on the next page. [Pg.265]
