Diabetes. Diabetes is a condition hae there is too much glucose in the blood. Therefore, it is not surprising that carbohydrate-based drugs would be active in a disease like diabetes. 

Areas of special interest in carbohydrate drug research include the treatment of Helicobacter gastritis and prion-induced CNS disease.
