Deviation sheet

If the trial pool does not meet the specification the Senior Chemist will use his/her judgement to assess a second trial pool. Record the details of further pools on a purification deviation sheet and attach to this process instruction. [Pg.144]

There are many sources of errors in the plant. The principal ones are related to sampling (qv), mass flow rates, assaying, and deviations from steady state. Collecting representative samples at every stage of the flow sheet constitutes a significant task. Numerous methods and equipment are available (10,16,17). [Pg.395]

In ordinary diamond (2inc-blende stmcture) the wrinkled sheets He in the (111) or octahedral face planes of the crystal and are stacked in an ABCABC sequence. In real crystals, this ABCABC sequence continues indefinitely, but deviations do occur. For example, two crystals may grow face-to-face as mirror images the mirror is called a twinning plane and the sequence of sheets crossing the mirror mns ABCABCCBACBA. Many unusual sequences may exist in real crystals, but they are not easy to study. [Pg.565]

T] Check of 132 data points showed average deviation 14.6% from theory. Johnstone and Pig-ford [Ref. 105] correlation (5-22-D) has exponent on Nue rounded to 0.8. Assume gauze packing is completely wet. Thus, = a, to calculate Hq and Same approach may be used generally applicable to sheet-metal packings, but they will not be completely wet and need to estimate transfer area. [Pg.623]

The yield point is the first point on the stress-strain curve at which an increase in strain occurs without an increase in stress. The stress at which a material exhibits a special limiting deviation from the proportionality of stress-to-strain is the yield strength. A material whose stress-strain curve exhibits points of zero slope may be considered to have a yield point such as described in Fig. 2-11. The data sheets usually omit the yield strength when there is a zero slope point on the stress-strain curve in the yield region. In reinforced plastic materials, the values of the yield strength and the tensile strength are very close to each other. [Pg.310]

ISF). However, in the P6s crystal form ( intermediate state ), the cluster binding subdomain appears to be detached from the base fold fi sheets 1 and 2) in an open conformation 42). If the functional domains of the two crystal forms are superposed using the base fold residues, the rms deviation of the Ca positions of the cluster binding... [Pg.108]

Fig. 4.3. (A) Composite multispecies benthic foraminiferal Mg/Ca records from three deep-sea sites DSDP Site 573, ODP Site 926, and ODP Site 689. (B) Species-adjusted Mg/Ca data. Error bars represent standard deviations of the means where more than one species was present in a sample. The smoothed curve through the data represents a 15% weighted average. (C) Mg temperature record obtained by applying a Mg calibration to the record in (B). Broken line indicates temperatures calculated from the record assuming an ice-free world. Blue areas indicate periods of substantial ice-sheet growth determined from the S 0 record in conjunction with the Mg temperature. (D) Cenozoic composite benthic foraminiferal S 0 record based on Atlantic cores and normalized to Cibicidoides spp. Vertical dashed line indicates probable existence of ice sheets as estimated by (2). 3w, seawater S 0. (E) Estimated variation in 8 0 composition of seawater, a measure of global ice volume, calculated by substituting Mg temperatures and benthic 8 0 data into the 8 0 paleotemperature equation (Lear et al., 2000). A moving front is usually observed in swelling glassy polymers. A diffusion-controlled front will advance with the square root of time, and a case II front will advance linearly with time. Deviations from this simple time dependence of the fronts may be seen in non-slab geometries due to the decrease in the area of the fronts as they advance toward the center [135,140], Similarly, the values of the transport exponents described above for sheets will be slightly different for spherical and cylindrical geometries [141],... [Pg.525]

The calculated energetics also allow one to estimate the normal load, thereby providing access to the friction coefficient once the friction force is known. This method, albeit crude, has been shown to yield good results when compared with experiments in cases such as graphite sheets sliding past one another.68 However, one should realize that approximations in the determination of the normal load, the assumption that friction only depends on energy barriers, and the lack of a consideration of dynamical aspects of system may lead to significant deviations from experimental results for many other systems. [Pg.101]

The Variable Sheet with the solution to such a problem is shown in Figure 2. Unit conversions from psi to atmospheres, from cubic feet to liters, and from Fahrenheit to Kelvins have been built into the model via the Units Sheet. For input values of 100 cubic feet of acetylene at 300 psi and 66°F, there are 728.9 moles of acetylene and the value of z of 0.874 indicates that the deviation fix>m ideality is 12.6%. [Pg.114]

According to the high resolution spectra (Fig. 3), the apparent percentage of the ester species (286.5 eV) appears smaller than that of the carbonyl species (288.6eV) on both DOS-and ATBC-oiled sheets, indicating the contribution of the contamination by adventitious hydrocarbon species. The measured percentage of the carbonyl carbon of as-received sheets is 10.9 % for DOS and 18.0 % for ATBC, those of which roughly correspond to the calculated ratios of DOS (9.2 %) and ATBC (21.0 %), respectively. But the effect of contamination makes it difficult to have further insight into the deviation from the calculated values. [Pg.157]

Preparation of the patient informed consent sheet is the responsibility of each investigator, although support of the sponsor is requested. The investigator can nominate sub-investigators and other supportive staff for the study and establish a study team. The member list of the study team should be submitted to, and confirmed by, the head of the institute. The investigator should endorse the study protocol and the study contract, and must comply with them. Any deviations from the protocol should be recorded and reported to both the head of the institute and the sponsor. [Pg.646]

Rutherford decided that the best way to proceed was to bombard the atoms with rapidly moving alpha particles. If Thomson s theory was correct, the paths of the particles would be deviated only slightly. Electrons were thousands of times lighter than alpha particles they couldn t possibly deflect the paths of the alpha particles significantly. Neither could the hypothetical sphere of positive electricity that Thomson had postulated it was too diffuse. So Rutherford and his assistants directed the particles at sheets of thin gold foil, approximately 0.00004 centimeters thick. After the particles passed through... [Pg.182]

The TT-stacked eolumns are detailed in Figure 7B and are eomprised of alternating sets of one 4a anion to two methylpyridinimn eations, and thus all of the cations in the crystal reside within these 7i-stacked columns. In contrast to the anions comprising the edge-to-edge sheets, the anions here are completely planar (<1 deviation). The face-to-face distance between anions and cations is 3.6... [Pg.82]

Some may question how the inspected laboratories rated in terms of comphance to each of the 141 operational provisions of the GLPs. The information accumulated from the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research indicates that 66% of the inspected laboratories were cited for one or more deviations from these provisions. The most significant departures from the GLPs were (1) final reports did not conform to the raw data (2) improper correction of the raw data (3) protocol revisions were implemented without amending the protocols (4) the absence of required SOPs and the failure to amend SOPs when necessary and (5) the master schedule sheets and the protocols did not contain the information required by the regulations. [Pg.221]
