DESONOX process

Ohlms [164] described the DESONOX process which was developed by Degussa (Germany). The concept of the process is the same as the process described by Agerholm et al. [153]. [Pg.167]

Combined denitrification and desulfurization (DESONOX process) SCR catalyst + V2O5 honeycomb catalyst, catalyst bed up to 450 °C... [Pg.265]

Brand, R., Engler, E., Honnen, W., Kleine-Mollhoff, P., and Koberstein, E 1989, First Operating Experience with the DESONOX Process for Simultaneous Removal of NO, and SO2 from Flue Gas, paper presented at the 82nd Annual Meeting Exhibition of the Air and Waste Management Association, Anaheim, CA, June 25-30. [Pg.937]

The combined approach of removing both the sulfur and the NOx from the flue gas is called SNOX (Haldor Topsoe A/S) or DESONOX (Degussa). An example of the setup for this process is shown in Fig. 10.11, where 99% of the NOx is converted in the SCR reactor and the SO2 is converted into sulfuric acid. [Pg.394]

The activated coke process is one of the processes that has reached furthest on the commercial scale. There are currently two commercial plants in operation in the Federal Republic of Germany and one in Japan. Another combined approach is catalytic conversion of both SO2 and NOx- Two such processes are in use, SNO and DESONOx- Pilot and demonstration plants have been operating in both Denmark and the Federal Republic of Germany and one is planned for the USA. The first full scale SNO plant has been ordered in Denmark and it will begin operation in 1991 (Richter and others, 1989). [Pg.325]
