20 -Deoxyleurosidine from anhydrovinblastine

The diols (15 / )- and (15 S)-hydroxyleurosidine, and the four 15 -hydroxy-compounds derived from deoxyleurosidine and deoxyvinblastine, have been prepared by standard procedures from anhydrovinblastine for pharmacological evaluation.122... 

Anhydrovinblastine (42) was produced from 15-(3-acetoxy-20-a-ethyldi-hydrocatharanthine (65) in that study [63,64-, an identical observation has been reported by Langlois et al.
