Dehumidifying facilities

Raw Materia] and Product Storage are on-site storage facilities for raw materials and for product. Commonly, when on-site storage is required, storage capacity is provided for 30 days, or more, of raw materials or product. Typical storage investment costs are 90/t of material for bulk storage and 140/t for bagged material, If dehumidified starve is necessary, these costs are about 10% hicher. 

If a cropped yeast culture is not stored properly, cell consistency will suffer, and it will adversely affect fermentation and beer quality. After cropping, the yeast is stored in a room that is conveniently sanitized and contains a plentiful supply of sterile water and a separate filtered air supply with positive pressure to prevent the entry of contaminants at a temperature of 0°C. Alternatively, insulated tanks in a dehumidified room can be used. In addition, off the shelf yeast storage facilities are available at various working capacities. 

What Beeler did not yet grasp was the very crucial role that a Semco Pinnacle Primary Ventilation System would play in the chilled beam application. The Pinnacle unit utilizes advanced heat wheel technology to dehumidify and precondition supply ventilation air — an important part of the puzzle since chiUed beams handle sensible load only, not latent (humidity) loads. The combination of the two technologies has been successfully applied in facilities throughout the U.S., including the South.
