Small parts like snaps/rivets, buttons, appliques, pompoms and fringes, bows and rosettes, dungaree clasps and sliders, zipper components, belt fasteners, toggles, decorative and functional loops, and decorative labels can cause choking hazards to a child. 

Injection-molded articles can be decorated by in-mold labeling or by post-mold decoration. In the former method, printed film is inserted into the mold cavity before injection. The plastic forms an intimate contact with the graphic material. Post-mold decoration includes hot stamping, dry offset printing, and decal printing.

It shall be unlawful for any person to manufacture, sell, or offer to sell any toy or plaything, including children s furniture, decorated or covered with paint or any other material containing lead or other substance of a poisonous nature, from contact with which children may be injuriously affected, unless such article shall contain a label affixed thereto stating in clear and unambiguous language that the said paint, or other material, contains lead or other substance of a poisonous nature. 

Use cases The ellipse (oval) represents a use case action called sell. (Actually, because exactly the same set of participants is involved in rent, we have written two labels in the same ellipse but there are really two action types here.) Sell is an action each of whose occurrences involves one Video Store, one Customer, and one Video. (If there were several of any participant, we could use cardinality decorations.) We have not visually distinguished action participants from parameters here.

For in-mould decoration or in-mould labelling, a decorated film or printed label is precisely located in the empty mould. The molten plastic then adheres onto the film or label during injection. Film is mechanically clamped. The label can be fixed in the mould by electrostatic charge. 

In-mould labelling (IML) used for injection-moulded products and blow-moulded bottles is an alternative to self-adhesive or heat-transfer decoration, eliminating a finishing step. 

Innovation drivers Besides the typical motivations in an ethical market , the competition with water-based synthetic varnishes (which in Germany featnre the Bine Angef label) also spurs on innovation. In addition, the annonnce-ment of an EU directive has also contribnted to limiting the solvent content of decorative paints (Decopaint Directive 2004/42/EC). 

There are many decoration options for bottles but the most common is the wet-glue labeller, which is described here, although self-adhesive labellers, sleeving and even a form of bottle printing using heat to transfer the print from a backing paper to the bottle are all available, together with machinery of application.
